The 20″ diameter shade shows an aged patina and is a rare cobalt blue enamel. The glass is a large thick glass teardrop. The total hight including glass is over 30″ tall. The details and proportions are amazing. It’s one of the best. $2800

The Humphery Lamp Company has been around since 1901 and they are still manufacturing. Their large early fixtures were used to light streets in western U.S. towns. The example pictured above is from the companies first year of production. This lamp has survived intact with all it’s original glass. The clear glass teardrop still boldly signed “The Humphery”. All the bass parts are intact. We were able to electrify the lamp with 3 sockets and not distroy any of the original gas parts. The large milk shade has a 19 inch diameter and the lamp is 26 inches tall. The condition is amazing with only a few chips on the original lime green porcelain finish. It even has gold leaf pin striping. $2800

I am told that this Alter piece was used as the focal point in ceremonies and is from “The Order of the Eastern Star”. This woman’s fraternal organization is in some way connected with the Masons. It is both a spectacular lamp and secret society icon. A 12 inch diameter hand painted and etched stained glass star is at the center. Surrounding that are 32 prism crystals that create a 34 inch round illuminated starburst. The lamp stands an impressive 6 foot tall on it’s iron base. It feels edgy and important at the same time but also projects a bizarre presence that is difficult to find without being corny…. SOLD

Normally these early brass and porcelain 8 bulb lamp clusters are never seen and hidden away. They were originally used to light the inside of a very large decorative lamp. These monumental fixtures could be found in early banks, municipal buildings or train stations. For us the look of this impressive unadorned utilitarian globe is just perfect. We were lucky to find a collection of 6 matching clusters. All are restored and rewired. With 8 glowing Edison filament bulbs… this industrial rarity puts on a spectacular show. Priced individually including 8 bulbs… $750. Buy one or all 6.

Eren Berg Studios introduces it’s newest creation using real 1890′s “Luxfer” prism glass. Luxfer glass is very collectable and best known for their association with Frank Lloyd Wright. He designed and held 41 prism glass patents. Our new design is a nod to this celebrated architect. This special glass was the product of a gas lamp age. The electric lamp was not yet in use so any additional light that could be brought into a building was a great benefit. These original panels were salvaged from the front transoms of Turn-Of-The-Century buildings. There they were used to refract light hitting the building and carry it deep into the interior. Each lamp uses an 4″ square glass lens in the simplest and most elegant way. No need to over design when the glass is so special. It took some time but we were able to assemble a matching collection of clear Luxfor Diamond Quilt pattern lenses. Not only are these lamps beautiful… they are priced right at $175 each – There are 12 in stock

And you thought I lived the glamorous life. Before the design sessions, treasure hunts and hard work The Black Cow is where you’ll find me. Every morning starts the same way. We’ve traveled the world and as luck would have it the best cup is right here. The only change I needed to make was the lighting over the counter. Now everything is perfect!!! If you can’t find me in my favorite chair… you’ll always see the yellow ugly mug up on the shelf behind Mr. Grant.

Here are two spectacular pairs of Japanned copper light fixtures in excellent, working condition. I’m showing both sets because they each feature very rare blue glass globes. The bottom 2 are electrified gas lamps. They were rescued from the Lindell Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska. The hotel was built in the late 1800′s but, sadly, demolished around in 1968. The top 2 are larger early New York street lamps in copper and iron.
Gas lamps… $2200 for the pair.
I’m discovering that filling the space is the easy part. We are housed in a historic 150 year old factory building located in Buchanan New York. If you take Metro North to work your train passes right by our windows every day. We open by appointment so call or email and we’ll put a light out for you.
